Cooperation extends beyond our own team. We also work with other first-aid teams, independent responders and organizations. For each event, we agree on the people, expertise and support needed.

The people behind each deployment

Together, we are EHBO Roosendaal SACE.

Our team consists of volunteers who use their time and knowledge to help others. During an event, we are visible and approachable: at the first-aid post, among visitors and wherever our help is needed. Calm, attention and respect for the people we help are central to our approach.

Every deployment is teamwork. One colleague provides first aid, another goes on a mobile patrol, stays in contact with the organizer or helps with equipment. These roles complement each other. We agree who does what and keep each other informed, so nobody has to manage alone.

We can generally work anywhere, with a preference for Roosendaal and the surrounding region. Volunteers, independent first-aiders and partner organizations each contribute in their own way. Clear agreements beforehand help us work as one team on site.

Care for people

First aid also starts with listening, reassurance and taking people seriously. We pay attention to visitors and to our colleagues.

Keep sharing knowledge

We refresh our first-aid knowledge and skills every year. Working together also lets us share experience and practical knowledge during deployments.

Voluntary, built on trust

Volunteers choose their own events and may also work elsewhere. There is no fixed number of mandatory deployments. Once someone signs up for an event, we expect them to attend: the team needs to be able to rely on one another.

Roles in our team

Good first aid depends on several roles working together. We divide these tasks according to each event; each role does not necessarily require a separate position or person.

🎯

Leadership and escalation

The coordinator leads the team at larger events, maintains direct contact with the organizer and keeps an overview at the first-aid post.

🎒

Set-up of the first-aid post, equipment management and coordination with external partners on location.

📡

Short lines with the organizer, clear handover during escalation and tidy reporting afterwards.

What an incident looks like

From report to resolution: this is how our team responds to an incident during an event.

📣
Step 1

Report comes in

A report reaches us through the organizer, colleagues or visitors. Every signal is taken seriously and handled immediately.

📱
Step 2

Dispatch through the EHBO app

Through our EHBO app, the nearest or available colleagues are sent directly to the report for a fast response.

🩺
Step 3

Assessment on location

On site, a fast but careful assessment is made of the incident: what happened, how serious it is and what is needed.

📡
Step 4

Scale up when needed

When the situation requires it, we scale up. Extra first-aid colleagues, security, traffic controllers or other responders are called in.

🚨
Step 5

First Responders called in

In a major incident, we call in our First Responders while the post prepares for larger-scale casualty reception.

Certification & quality

SACE has been active for more than three years and has been registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce since 2026. First aiders deployed independently hold at least a basic first-aid diploma with first aid for children (EHAK) and resuscitation. Most volunteers hold a comprehensive first-aid diploma with EHAK and resuscitation. We refresh this knowledge and these skills every year.
